An Ebook Challenge for Christians During Sundays in Advent

On the first Sunday of Advent, I was browsing the top 50 ebooks in Amazon's Holiday Fiction category. Although it wasn't surprising to find that most of them appeared to be Christmas-themed novels, it was shocking and revolting to find that nearly 50 percent of them were steamy "Christmas" fiction. One even had the words "filthy" and "dirty" in the sub-title!

Christmas is one of the purest and most wholesome holidays in existence. From my perspective, as a Christian, it's the most wholesome, purest holiday. It celebrates the birth of our Lord and Savior, God and man, Who -- Like God, the Father -- is Love.

Now, I'm not advocating for censorship. There's more than enough of that in the world right now. But since the Holiday Fiction ebook category is dominated by "Christmas" novels, wouldn't it be wonderful if they actually reflected the love and spirit of the holiday...at least a little bit?

So, here's the challenge, my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. On each Sunday in Advent, I challenge you to buy a clean Christmas ebook that's ranked in the top 150 in the Holiday Fiction category. Hopefully, that will bump up titles that are more likely to fill people with Christmas joy -- and less likely to fill people's minds with expletives and tawdry affairs -- and fill the top 50 with Christmas ebooks that are actually Christmas ebooks.  Bonus "points" if you buy or borrow an Advent devotional. Happy reading, and have a blessed Advent!
